As part of the astronomy unit, students must work in groups of three to complete a wiki page on a chosen planet in the Solar System. Each student will be responsible for completion of one of the required project components below. Your group must first decide on a planet and then decide who will complete each part of the project. The group will receive a grade based on their ability to work together and the quality of the final project.
1. Introduction using Blabberize - Find an excellent photo of the planet and use Blabberize.com to construct a speaking image. Discuss with your group which questions your "Blabber" will answer to introduce the planet. Must answer at least 6 questions. Link the completed "Blabber" to your class period's page. Add descriptive text to introduce the link. Get the "Blabber" directions from the teacher.
2. Content using Inspiration- Using "Inspiration", create an informational web about the planet. Discuss with your group which questions your "Inspiration" will answer to add to the planet's data. Provide at least 6 text boxes and 5 images to support your information. Link the completed "Inspiration" to your class period's page. Get the "Inspiration" directions from the teacher.
3. Content using Animoto - Discuss with your group which questions your "Animoto" will answer to further provide information on the planet and the conclusion. Obtain images that clearly represent the planet. For example: who discovered it, the satellites that landed on it, its moons/rings, etc. Import the images into "Animoto" to create a music video of the planet. Video must contain at least 5 photos and 6 text boxes of information. Link the completed "Animoto" to your class period's page.
